31st august 2009 monday - part ii

31st august 2009 monday
small ikan billies fried rice. use sesame oil to fry ikan billies till fragrant, add mince ginger then egg ,pepper a bit of sauce, ikan billies quite salty, lastly add chopped spring onion.

tea break - fried bananas kueh
use the very ripe bananas, very sweet, add a bit of sugar, flour, water mixed well. use more oil to fry this, very nice but very oily and filling, now stomach bloated.

Yesterday h bought crabs not very nice esp the sauce not tasty, is a waste of money. He also bought portuguese tart and the durian flavour. Ask him to buy 2 instead he bought six. All still in the refrig. Tried half of each, not bad, quite nice.

25th august 2009 tuesday

Yesterday laptop no battery so cannot blog, dont use to use other com. This is sat tea break, korean chives pancake. Saw the chives in the market thinking what to do with it, so fry the pancake, not bad but ate too much flour, heaty too, ear got pimples, putting on weight too so must cut down flour.
monday lunch clement want chicken sandwiches, so i also ate the same, finish the two bread skin, the chicken didnt add salt so not salty not very nice. Enough of bread alrdy.
Today lunch, want something light, so sweet pototoes porridge, use the japanese purple skin but yellow flesh taste like chestnut very nice.




can pork cube go with porridge, try the gulong brand the colour not very nice and oily, shld buy narcriss brand. u dont eat the pork directly from the can, it got one kind of funny taste. So u must use mince ginger, garlic, fry it first till fragrant, add pork, wine fry for 1 mins, add green pepper cut into smaller pieces or green chillies and chillies slice, add a bit of dark sauce to gave it a nicer colour.
The pork is quite sweet, so quite unhealhty, eat once a while .


can cucumber lettuce from 3 AAA bottle, want to try how it taste not very nice, the white carrot not bad, my daughter only like the chye sim, actually the jap cumcuber also not bad, go very well with porride. Anyway i hardly eat porridge.

22th august 2009 saturday
satuday usual lunch is alway wanton noodles with roast pork.
sauce for noodles
1/2 tb oyster sauce
1/2 tb tomatoes sauce
1/2 sesame oil
1/2 tsp dark sauce (if u want it black)
add 2tb to 3 tb hot water or ikan billies stock to mix.
put a big pot of water boiling hot then add noodles if not it will turn out not the right texture.

mince pork for mee tai mark or noodles

what u need

100g mince pork
1 small onion mince
1 garlic mince

method
season mince pork with light sauce,pepper,1/2tsp cornflour for 20 mins.

Fry mince garlic and onion till fragrant, add pork fry till cook add 1/4 c of water, more sauce,pinch of salt. cook for 5 to 10 mins.
21st august 2009 friday
squid boil in braised sauce, a bit too hard, boil for 5 mins and soak for `1 hour.
spinach - eat half away forget to take picture.
what veg is this ? cannot remember hardly cook that why u see it overcook, it turn blackgohiang cut into smaller pieces.

what u need
gohiang skin, also call tow kee skin
mince pork 200g
mince prawn 100g or 200g
waterchestnut chopped 4
carrot mince
spring onion chopped 1 to 2 stalk
egg 1/2 to 1
mince big onion 1/c cup
mince garlic , a bit
five spice powder
pepper,salt
light sauce
sugar, a bit
dark sauce, a bit
corn flour 1 tb
plain flour 1to 2 tb.
method
Tow kee skin is very salty, so u need to used a clean wet towel to clean both side.
waterchestnut after chopping u need to squeeze away the water, cannot too wet.
add all above together n mix well, by go round till it sticky. let it stand for at least 2 hour before wrapping.
the sweet sauce buy the brown colour type, the black sweet sauce is another flavour is for soon kueh. u can dont add prawn, like this one i didnt add prawn , can u taste the difference. usually i add taste better.

yesterday tea-break - sandwiches - bread, fried pork chop,bread,egg, lettuce with lot of mayo, tomates to brighten up your sandwiches and cheese spread
today tea break - kaya kueh and glutinous rice with sweet coconut
lunch - shanghai noodles with seame oil and light sauce, egg, lettuce with mayo and leftover pork

last night dinner - celery, big tow kay, mo gua with prawn skin, purple brown white rice, mince pork two who and mo gua, carrot, pork rib soup. So much fibre really very good for clearing one system. Today went west mall bought some stuff.

19 th august 2009 fried mee hoonYesterday ate too much meat so today vegetatian mee hoon for lunch

what u need

mee hoon
carrot
mince garlic , spring onion
dried prawn
salt, light sauce, pepper

method

Fry mince garlic, add dried prawn fry for it for 2 mins, add cabbage, carrot strips, mee hoon ( i did not soak, salt, sauce and half cup of water and cover it.
5 mins later mixed it, let it cook till done, if mee hoon still uncook add a bit more water to cook it.
Lastly add pepper and spring onion

note: i didnt add dried prawn but if u add it the mee hoon will taste better. This is a very simple lazy style of frying mee hoon.

teabreak - spring onion cake, purple grapes, green bean soup and sandwiches, stomach now bloated and giddy, too much carb and sugar.

18 august 2009 pumpkin soup


what you need

pumpkin unskin, scrub the skin clean with a clean sponge

black eye bean

2 garlic

1 slice of ginger

pork rib, par boil it, wash in cold water

method

When water boiled add all above, when the water boil let it uncovered boil for another 5 mins.

cover it and lower fire and let it simmer for 1 hour.

lastly add pinch of salt and ready to serve.

17 th august 2009 monday

One year later look at the yr 2009 !
since my daugter want to read my blog i post all the pictures which i didnt post for quite a while. it use up so much of my energy that i need to rest my head, that why people like me cannot go to work.look at my untidy hall table, everybody dump their things here, before i clear, y f bring more things home from overseas to dump there, i throw them back to his room the next morning.







bananas - how to make bananas kueh without flour, too tired to leave the hse on monday, after all i ex so much on sunday. peel away the skin and put in the freezer to keep bananas fresh. Tie it in a plastic bag.





drying all my veg before putting in the refri.





japanese cucumber, asparaus and carrot.





dinner for 2 , a bit too much so i froze the chicken leg without touching it,
This way u can keep the chicken fresh for a number of day, of course try to eat
it in a week time. big peas is nice and crumchi






big tow kay actually is yellow bean seed, tow kay is green bean seed which is
cooling. two kwa braised with leftover pork sauce and white carrot, my
daughter dont like the white carrot but i like it, very nice ah girl.










steam white profret with sweet rice wine, salted tow cheo, ginger strip.
steam for 6 to 8 mins, depend on the size of the fish, too much tow cheo,
very salty, dont add too much, healthy livng. white rice with 1/2 teaspoon of
pruple glutinous rice.

white fungus soup - good for lung , cough, skin just like birdnest, rich people eat birdnest, poor people eat while fungus, both are the same got collegan, add a slice of ginger or few red dates without seed, carrot with chicken or pork rib or pork meat



spring onion pancake add pork lard quite nice but better dont eat too much cos i use pork lard to fry it too.

glutinous rice again very nice but very heaty, use black sesame oil. When u try seame oil it is very heaty, if u drip few drop lastly, it is not heaty.




dinner - chye poh, spring onion fried egg, a bit salty, fish cake with white onion and green pepper. asparaus with fresh black mushroom. pan fry the mushroom with little oil, mushroom can suck up a lot of oil, add mince garlic with small fire, it will be fragrant, korean sweet ikan billies againnot cprisy enough, sugar again. enough of it alrdy.















the spacing here so big nobody teach me how to adjust, so frustrating and tiring.

































17th august 2009 monday

i copy all my photos wrongly all the other way. fried rice with mince garlic, mince onion, mince garlic with leftover roast pork. sprinkle salt, pepper, sesame oil over white rice before fried.add light sauce n spring onion lastly.

add one can of water to mix it well in the pot.
frying roti john for clement which he request, the loat was bought by
him 3 days ago, He likes it, eat without complaining, He likes to comment on
every things i cook!

1. cut the bread into half, use teaspoon to spread tomates sauce.
2. chop big white onion and mix with egg, a bit of salt (opt), french loaf is a bit salty.
3. use tablespoon to spread egg mixture on to bread and pan fry it in hot oil - small fire, till cprisy or done.

chicken leg with tomatoes sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger,
sugar, vinegar, cucumber strips and tomatoes cube, sping onion
